Barriers and Enablers in Technology

Find out what happened when some 4th and 5th grade students discovered they could anonymously edit one another's Google Docs. It was a a tough technology lesson for many involved, but led to a great solution.

  1. What great lessons to learn... Did this also prompt a discussion with your students about cyberbullying? :)

  2. I have had the same concerns when wanting to implement technology in the classroom. A great site similar to PBworks that I have used is Wikispaces. It allows me to create individual accounts for my students quickly. I create a username and password for them and tell them they cannot change it. If they do, they will lose technology privileges. I do this because the free version has a chat feature that I do not allow them to use and I want to be able to view their account activity. Of course, if my school pays for Wikispaces, I could turn the chat option off.
